Tips & Tricks for Building & Texturing:
* Egg Tray / Thin Foam Base: Cut individual bricks from egg trays or thin high-density EVA/XPS foam and glue them in sections to simulate areas where render or plaster has flaked off over time.
* Tissue & PVA Stucco Layer: Layer tissue paper soaked in a 50/50 water-and-PVA mix over the rest of the body. Dab with an old, stiff brush to create an irregular plaster texture that blends smoothly into the exposed brick areas.
* Spackle/Joint Compound Highlights: Apply a light layer of lightweight wall filler using a sponge to create real chipped plaster edges where the stone meets the smooth wall.
* Fiberglass Mesh Tape & Wire: Use fine floral wire or copper wire for the posts and top rails. Use fiberglass mesh tape or fine tulle netting for delicate grid or mesh elements if needed.
* Solder vs. Cyanoacrylate (CA): Thin wire railings are sturdiest when soldered at key joints. If using CA glue, reinforce join points with a small drop of thin glue, then sprinkle baking soda over it for an immediate, high-strength bond.
* Frosted / Grimy Windows: Scratch clear plastic sheets lightly with fine sandpaper or apply a thin wash of dirty grey/brown wash to simulate salt-crusted glass.
